Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1435
Hey. Teri here. Happy Sunday. Hope you’re doing well. Well, as you know, on Sunday, we like to answer questions from the community.
And a lot of the time the questions do come from our Facebook community. If you’re not part of that, feel free to join at VoiceinCanada.ca/Community.
Yesterday, we spoke about some of the commands that you can say to Alexa that have an exercise theme.
Well, today, I want to tell you that you can actually use Alexa to track your workouts. It’s really easy on the app.
If you go into the app, and you click on the “More” button in the bottom right, and when you click on “See More”, you’ll see a little down arrow next to
“See More” Click on that. And then you’re going to see “Workout” Now when you click on that, you’re going to open up a whole bunch of different options.
I’ll just give you a quick overview of it, and then you can take some time to experiment with it if you like.
The first thing I’ll say is, it does have a notice on that screen that says to track your workout, connect your Echo Buds.
So if you have Echo Buds, this is gonna work much better.
You can also track where you go so that you can then see where you have gone
But, if you click on the second tab at the top, you’ll see “History” Click on that, and then you can see at the bottom it says “Create Workout Profile”
You can then put in your height and your weight, and then you can just simply say a command such as, “Alexa, start my workout.”
And Alexa will actually track your workout. You can also track where you go so that you can then see where you have gone, and you can get accurate distances and calories burned once you’ve, of course, entered in your height and your weight.
So, there’s a lot here. This is really interesting to me because in some ways this has some overlap with some of the other well-known fitness apps.
It’ll be interesting to see if Amazon continues to develop this out.
But for now, check it out, see what you think, play around with it, and I would love to hear your feedback as always on Twitter, @DrTeriFisher.
Alright! Have a great day. Talk to you soon.
