Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1309
Hello. Happy Sunday. Teri here. As you may know, Sunday is the day to answer questions from our community. And today, the question comes from the Facebook community.
By the way, if you’re not a part of our Facebook community, I encourage you to join us. Just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community and that will take you directly to the page.
This question is from Wayne P. And he says, “Does anyone know when adaptive volume is coming to Canada?”
So, for those of you that don’t know, adaptive volume is a new feature available in the United States, and what it does is it allows the volume of the Echo devices to automatically change based on how noisy the background is.
That’s kind of essentially it in a nutshell. And, these questions always come up whenever there’s a new feature in the United States because we always want them here too.
And I can totally understand that. I’d love to have this feature here as well. The bottom line is that I don’t have a great answer for you.

As Pete said in the answer on the Facebook page, he said when questions are almost impossible to, or are impossible to answer, as Amazon seldom, if ever, pre-announces release dates.
And that is true, what Pete says. But just so you know, you can enable these types of features if you also have an Amazon.com account.
So, in other words, if you have registered your Echos to dotcom account, then you have access to the US features.
Now, you do lose a little bit of functionality when you do that because you can’t do the voice ordering directly from the device.
It does change some of the locale-specific features or initiatives if you will, but nevertheless, that is one way around it.
Bottom line, when is adaptive volume coming to Canada, not sure. But I will do my best to certainly let you know when it is available.
And, as soon as I know, I will do a flash briefing all about it. Thanks for tuning in everybody and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
