Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #434
Hey, it’s Sunday. How are you doing? I’m doing great. It’s Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for today. And on Sundays, I like to answer questions from the community. And, today’s question, again, comes from the Facebook community, which you can access by the way at AlexainCanada.ca/Community.
And this question comes from Christine Depuis Holleran, and she says, “Is there any advantage to getting a Firestick if I have an Apple TV?” Great Question, Christina.
In fact, I had an Apple TV, and then I got a Firestick, and I can give you some of my thoughts on this, but just before I do that, I want to tell you what some of the other community members answered to your question.
So Pete said, “Voice search of content”, and that definitely is one of the biggest things that I find, is that you can just talk to it. Jerry says, “Voice search is great.” Jack says, “You can install VPN software on a Firestick.”
Sounds like you’re a little more advanced than I am with that, Jack. And then, Stacy says, “You can download Kodi on a Firestick.” So yes, I think one of the biggest advantages is that you can simply talk to the remote, and you can control your TV through voice.
One of the biggest advantages is that you can simply talk to the remote.
But I think something else that’s even a little bit more interesting, is that, if you have a standalone Echo device in the room with your TV, you can actually set that particular Echo device to work seamlessly with your Firestick.
Meaning, you don’t even need the remote for the Firestick in order to control it. You can simply talk to that Echo device that’s always on in your room whenever you want to activate something with the TV.
So it’s actually even easier than using the remote once you’ve got an Echo device in the room. So, if you’ve got a Fire TV, a Firestick, check it out. I think you’ll find that useful.
And, if not, or you don’t agree, I always like to hear your feedback. Just send it my way on Twitter. And that’s @DrTeriFisher. Okay. Talk to you later.
