Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #25
Hello and I hope you’re having a great day. Today I want to talk a little bit about a feature that you can use an Alexa to delete some of your voice recordings.
Now I know that some people are concerned about the privacy with these types of devices and this is something that I plan to talk about more in detail in the future one of the podcasts.
But what I will say is that if you do have concerns about this, you can delete the voice recordings.
Let me just say one thing very clearly here, Alexa is not recording everything that you say.
Alexa is listening for the wake word and when the wake word is said, then records the statement in order to be able to act on that statement.
But I mean he said that if there are certain statements that you want to delete, it’s very easy to do that.
Alexa is not recording everything that you say.
You basically go into your App, your Alexa App, click on the menu button, click on settings, and then you scroll down and close to the bottom.
You will see a feature called history. So you click on the history button and now you can see a list of all the commands that you’ve given to Alexa and this list is obviously, or depending how long you’ve had your device, it can be very, very long.
So you would scroll through it, you’d find the particular statement that you want to delete, you’d click on it and then you can hit the button, delete voice recordings and it will be gone.
Now that can be quite tedious if you want to delete each one individually so you can delete them all at the same time by going to www.Amazon.ca/MyCD, and there you can delete all of them at the same time.
Keep in mind that Amazon does say that when you do that, it may degrade your experience a little bit because Alexa does get to know your voice as you speak to her and she becomes more responsive to your voice.
So if you’re concerned about the privacy, you can definitely delete it.
The, you know, the downside to it is that it may degrade your experience a little bit up to you, but just so you know, it’s a feature there and you can delete your recordings if you want to. All right talk, to you soon.
