Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #854
Hello, hello, it’s Teri here, happy father’s day to all of the fathers out there.
Hope you have a wonderful day and celebrate well, the way that you enjoyed celebrate father’s day, although I imagine this year, it’s a little different with the whole social well, physical distancing.
So in any case hope you’re having a wonderful father’s day.
I want to cover two quick things today, normally on Sundays, I do a question from the community and we will get to that.
But first I promised that I would give you my favorite father’s day command or saying for Alexa and that’s simply, well, there’s actually two of them.
One is, “Alexa do you celebrate father’s day?” and she will give you a clue to my favorites, which is this one, “Alexa, rap for father’s day” and she’s got a new rap just for all you dads out there, alright?
Now, let’s get to the question today and really it’s a series of questions and it’s all about the new Echo Auto that has come out just recently, just this past week and it is now available in Canada.
And there is a lot of buzz about this on the Facebook community, if you’re not part of our community, go to AlexainCanada.ca/Community.
And it was a Janet McKay Thompson who first posted about it and there are tons and tons of questions about this.
My favorite father’s day command or saying for Alexa.
What I’ll tell you is this I can’t cover all these questions today cause there’s too many but what I want to tell you is that I’ve had this device now for a while because I did manage to get it shipped to the U.S when I was there.
And I’ve had it in my car and I just set it up on the Canadian account, it was very, very easy to set up.
I’ll tell you that, very simple, it connected essentially automatically it played a test sound through my Bluetooth connection to my car so that the sound of Alexa is actually coming through the speakers of the car, so that was pretty cool as well.
Obviously, the thing is that with the Echo Auto versus the other ones is it’s going to require a source of data because you’re not on WiFi when you’re driving around.
So it does connect to your phone and that’s how it connects to the internet, so that’s one of the big differences.
Now having said all that, we’re going to cover a ton more about the Echo Auto product this Tuesday on the podcast.
I have a very senior person from Amazon who is scheduled to be appearing on the podcast with me to talk specifically about Echo Auto and about it coming to Canada.
So stay tuned for that, I’ll have more information about that this week and also talk a little bit more about the features of the Echo Auto as this week progresses.
I do want to remind you one other thing, and that is The Voice Den that is happening on Wednesday, it’s completely free thanks to the sponsorship of Amazon Alexa.
And it happens at 5:00 PM Pacific, 8:00 PM Eastern, go reserve your seat at TheVoiceDen.com it’s going to be lots of fun, got a couple of surprises in there and I hope I see you there.
Okay, have a great day, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
