Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1211

Hello, happy Sunday, hope you’re doing well, it’s Teri here and let’s answer a question from the community as we like to do on Sundays.

This is a great one, it’s a relatively short question, but it’s a really practical one and this is from the the Facebook community and if you’re not part of our community, I encourage you to join us at VoiceinCanada.ca/Community.

This question is from Jonah Connor Dewar, I hope I pronounce your name right Jonah and Jonah says, “What’s the voice command for Alexa setting a daily weekday alarm”.

He says that he tried using the command quote, “Set a weekday daily alarm for 5:30am”, and got woken up on the weekend as well and that’s not what he was going for and I can’t imagine it would be fun if you have your weekends to sleep in.

you say set a week day alarm for 5:30am, etc, but don’t actually say the word daily in there because that confuses Alexa.

Setting Weekday Alarms

And I want to thank Cathie Althuizen , who said basically leave out the word daily and just say weekday, because those are contradictory.

And if you go back to the way that Jonah was phrasing that he said set a weekday daily alarm, and I just tested that out and that’s exactly right, Kathy, so Jonah, hopefully that does help.

Basically you say set a week day alarm for 5:30am, etc, but don’t actually say the word daily in there because that confuses Alexa.

So hopefully that helps and hopefully that is useful to many more people in the community and hope you have a wonderful Sunday and I will talk to you again tomorrow, take care.
