Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #532
Hey there, Teri here with your flash briefing for Sunday. And, today as usual, I like to highlight questions from the community. This one comes from Tara Styles from the Facebook community.
And by the way, if you are not in the Facebook community, you are, of course, welcome to join us at AlexainCanada.ca/Community. Alright, let’s get to the question.
The question is, she writes, “Any updates on the whisper mode in Canada? It’s a bit frustrating that one of the ads currently featured this on TV, but you know, it doesn’t seem to be working here in Canada.”
So, there was quite a bit of discussion about this in the Facebook group. And, here’s the bottom line. I just went into my app, my Alexa app to check this out.
And, I do not have this option to turn on whisper mode. Now, you can ask Alexa to whisper and you’ll get a whispered response, but that’s not actually the same thing.
We’re talking about a function that whenever you whisper to Alexa, she whispered back to you. I do not have this function available to me.

However, we had a comment from someone else in the community, Ashley D., who looked on her mobile app and found that she does have the option to turn on whisper mode under the Alexa voice responses.
And, she says she has a Canadian account and it’s set for English Canadian language. So, this makes me wonder if they are starting to roll this out in a gradual process.
Sometimes Amazon does this. So, I’m going to turn the tables a little bit, and my question to you, is do you have this feature?
Basically to find it, you would go into your Alexa app, you will click on the menu, the hamburger icon, you will click on settings, you will click on Alexa account, and then you will click on voice responses, Alexa voice responses, and see if you have more than one option there.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
