Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #413

Hi there, it’s Teri here, and welcome to the flash briefing for Sunday. As you know, on Sunday I like to answer questions from our community from in particular AlexainCanada.ca/Community, and that’s where you can join our Facebook community.

Let’s get right to it. So, the question I’m answering today comes from Carolyn Dorazio. I hope I pronounced that right, Carolyn. And she says, “Hi, the audio from my computer is coming out of my Echo. Does anyone know why this would happen?”

I want to give a shout out to Pete Brady, who did provide some support essentially for Carolyn in the community. And he answered it, and he said, “Basically it sounds like you have it connected to Bluetooth”, and I would have to agree.

The only reason that the sound from your Echo is coming out of your computer, assuming you haven’t actually connected it with a wire, would be through Bluetooth.

So at some point, you likely have set up your computer speaker to transmit the audio that is coming from your Echo device, as a Bluetooth out on speaker. The way that would have been done is through the Alexa app.

The way that would have been done is through the Alexa app.

Question: How to Disable Bluetooth with Alexa?

Now, once that is done, whenever you want to connect the speaker, or connect your Echo to the speaker, whether it’s a computer speaker or any other Bluetooth speaker, you simply use the command, “Alexa, connect to speaker”, and it will search for that speaker that it has already been paired to, and connect.

Conversely, if you want to stop that connection, which addresses the question here at hand, you would simply say, “Alexa, disconnect from speaker”, and Alexa would do that, and then you are done. Problem solved.

So, hopefully, that helps. Shout out to Pete for helping out with that question as well. And, if you are having a similar issue, then try those commands, and see how you do. Alright? Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday.

I look forward to speaking with you tomorrow, and tomorrow I’m going to give another shout out to somebody who left a flash briefing review. To leave a review of your own, simply go to VoiceinCanada.ca. Alright. Talk to you tomorrow. Take care.
