Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #567

Hey there, hope you are having a great weekend. It’s Sunday and we’re going to answer a question from the community as we normally do on Sundays.

And this one comes from George S. And, he had a question, and he said, “It’d be great to know why somebody should get, for example, an Echo Dot versus the regular Echo.”

So, essentially the question is like to compare and contrast the different types, and I think this is a really, really good question, a really good topic to discuss.

So I’m going to tell you just briefly right now, why I would suggest getting one over the other.

However, I will also say that if you go to the AlexainCanada.ca website, and put your email address in anywhere on that site, you will have immediate access to basically a little cheat sheet, which is all about which Echo is best for you, and it goes through all the main devices that are available here in Canada.

But today, I’ll just explain a little bit of the difference between the Echo Dot and the Echo. Here’s the deal, the Echo Dot is the smallest and it’s the most affordable device.

So number one, if cost is the primary factor for you in getting an Echo, then the Echo Dot is going to be the cheapest, and it retails for $69.99.

An Echo Dot versus the regular Echo.

Question: Echo or Echo Dot?

The Echo on the other hand, is $129.99, so it’s almost double, but because it’s more expensive, of course it has a little bit better features.

In particular, the speaker is better. Because the device is physically bigger, it is able to hold a better speaker and because of that, the sound is that much better.

But again, the size is bigger, so you can imagine about six hockey pucks stacked on top of each other.

That’s about how big it is, versus the Echo Dot, which is about the size of one hockey puck. So, that’s the thing. That’s the big difference.

The big difference is the price, and the quality of the speaker. If you are looking for better quality sound, go with the Echo.

If you want a cheap device, that still sounds pretty good. I would go with the Echo Dot. I hope that helps George. Thanks for the great question.
