Hey there. It’s Sunday. And, that means it is question and answer day here on the flash briefing. Today, I want to highlight a question that came in from Darren T.

This was an email that was sent in to me and he said, “If I purchase the new Echo Studio and the second generation of the Fire TV Cube, and the Echo Dot third generation, can I use Alexa to give commands for the TV Cube from the Echo Studio in the living room or the Echo Dot?”

Well, that’s a great question. And the answer is Richard, Yes you can.

The thing is, once you have set up your devices and they each have an individual name, and you can always check that through your Alexa app by going into your settings and looking at the devices, then you can find the name of each of your devices.

As long as there is some power to it, it should be able to control your other device.

But yes, you can give your commands to control a different device if you’re speaking on another device.

So yes, I can talk to my Echo and I can say, “Hey, Alexa, turn on the Fire TV Stick.”

And, as long as there’s power to it, because if you’ve turned off your TV and there’s no power to it, then there’s going to be a problem, but as long as there is some power to it, it should be able to control your other device.
