Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1263
Hey, hey. Teri here, and I’ve got yet another cool update from Alexa Live. I’ve got a bunch of these, and I’m going to continue to bring you the latest news.
The catch with these is, again, you know, are all of these available to Canada when they come out? We don’t know that.
But, I think it’s worthwhile letting you know what these announcements are because they are eventually going to come here.
This is in addition to the In-Skill Purchasing that I mentioned last week. If you didn’t catch that flash briefing, In-Skill Purchasing allows you to purchase things from within the skill, which is now available in Canada.
Well, Amazon also announced recently that they are now having paid skills. And what that means, it’s… is that customers, or consumers, or whatever you want to call us, as con… as users of Alexa, we have the option of paying a one-time fee upfront to access the content of a skill.
We have the option of paying a one time fee upfront to access the content of a skill
And so this is ideal for premium skills where you know, one of the consumers is more likely to pay once to access the core skill experience.
And it reduces the need for developers then to try to upsell things for people within the skill. So, it’s a different approach.
There’s the in In-Skill Purchasing, which for some things is going to make sense, so you can purchase something from within the skill once you get into skill.
But now, there’s also the option to have paid skills where a consumer can pay for the skill upfront, and then they’re in the skill and they have all access to all the features.
So, we will see how this turns out and we will see how this develops. But I’m excited to see these different options for the skills as they come out and get released.
So there you go. I’ll be watching for this as well. And, I’ll keep you updated on the news in that. Alright? Have a wonderful day. Talk to you tomorrow.
