Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #589

Hello there and welcome to the flash briefing for today. As you may know, last week was a huge event for Amazon.

They announced a ton of new services, a ton of new products, all of… I’m sure, just in time for the holiday season. And over the next, probably week or two, I’m going to use the flash briefing to bring you up to speed on all the different things that Amazon has announced with regards to Alexa.

A lot of which are actually available in Canada for order, or for pre-order right now.

But today I want to tell you about a cool feature, a feature that has been asked for a number of times, and that is multi-lingual support.

You will have the ability to speak to Alexa in English or in French.

Multilingual Support Coming to Canada

Now, it’s not there just yet, but Amazon did announce that Canada is going to be one of the first countries to have multi-lingual support.

And what does that mean? Well, it means that you will have the ability to speak to Alexa in English or in French, and you’ll be able to flip back and forth, and Alexa will be able to understand you.

So you won’t just have to choose Canadian English or Canadian French. You can choose either language, and you can speak whenever you want, and Alexa is bilingual in Canada.

So that’s great, I will keep you updated about when that feature actually comes on, so when it is live, but in the meantime, I think that’s great news and we’ll just keep our fingers crossed that it comes on pretty soon. Alright, talk to you again tomorrow.
