Wake Word for a Male Voice

Hello. Teri here. Happy Sunday. Hope your weekend is going really well. As always, Sundays we like to answer questions from the community.

And this is more of a comment/question from our Facebook community. As always, if you’re not part of that, you’re welcome to join us.

Just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community. So here is the comment by Alan.

Alan says, “So I found that you can change the voice of Alexa to a male voice”, which of course is true.

And Ellen says, “My wife said to try it out on the bedroom Echo, and it’s very cool. But it feels odd calling her Alexa while hearing a male voice.”

So, you know, that was more of a comment, and you saying “It’s a little bit odd” What can you do about this?

Well, we had a lot of people start a discussion about this in the Facebook group. We had William, Kirsten, Steve, Ken and Richard.

You can change the wakeup word to customize it however you’d like

Lots of people commented on this. And really the bottom line is you can change the wake name.

You can change it to Echo, you can change it to computer. You can change it to a number of different things. And then it makes a lot more sense.

Some people were saying that you can set up a man cave, if that’s what you want, and have it have a male voice and sound like a computer from Star Trek.

That sort of thing. So you can have a lot of fun with it. So, pretty interesting. There you go. Lots of fun stuff to do.

You can now change the voice of Alexa. You can change the wakeup word to customize it however you’d like. So I hope that’s helpful to all of you.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
