Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #131
All right. Let’s talk some commands today. As you know, I’ve been doing some flash briefing specifically about commands and let’s do another one today.
This one is relatively simple, but if you’re not aware of it, it can be quite useful when you start talking about list commands.
So what are list commands? When you ask Alexa to add something to your list, it allows you to then verbally add things to your to do lists or your shopping list.
Very simple. You simply say, “Alexa, add eggs to my list”, and boom, it’s done. “Add milk to my list”. Boom, it’s done.
And the really nice thing about this is that it syncs with the Alexa App. So you can literally walk around your kitchen, see what things you need, tell Alexa add them to your list, and then when you get to the store, you just bring up your Alexa App and there they are all listed out for you and with little checkbox or when you check them off, they’re done.
You can do your grocery lists and simple things.
It’s fantastic. Now, the one thing that we don’t have yet here in Canada is the ability to have multiple lists.
That can be really nice feature because then you could specify which list the item needs to go on.
So for example, if you’ve got certain things you want to pick up at a grocery store versus a hardware store versus, you know, a clothing store, whatever it is, you could do multiple lists that’s not yet available here in Canada.
Hopefully it will be coming soon. But for now you can do your grocery lists and simple things like that, or have one long list.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
