Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #50
So for those of you that are kindle readers, you’re going to like today’s episode of the flash briefing.
I talked a little while ago about the fact that you can use Alexa to read you your audible subscription and so in that case, of course these are recorded books that are read to you through the narrator’s voice.
But if you already have an extensive kindle library or if you enjoy downloading books to your kindle and reading them, you can also have Alexa read you your kindle books as well.
And this is basically built right into Alexa. There’s a couple ways that you can do this. First through the App, it’s pretty simple.
You just click on the menu button and then you click on music and books and then you’re going to see that down to the bottom there’s a subheading that says books and there’s audible there.
You can use Alexa to read you your audible subscription.
And we talked about that previously, as I said. And then there’s kindle and you just click on kindle and all of a sudden you can see your entire kindle library, which is pretty cool.
And right at the top of the screen, you can actually choose which Alexa device you want to activate to read you the story if you have multiple devices.
So that’s pretty neat too. And then you can click on it and you can start playing it.
Now, of course with Alexa, you got to have a way to control it by voice and so you can always just say to Alexa, “Alexa, play the kindle book” and you say the title and off she goes.
And then you can use a command such as pause, skip, stop, resume and that’s pretty cool.
And the neat thing is that if you already started reading the book on another device like your kindle device itself, and you ask Alexa to start reading it, it’ll pick up from where you left off.
So very cool. Try that out and see how it goes. Another way for you to enjoy your books, talk to you tomorrow.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
