Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1036
Hey there, Teri here, happy Sunday.
Hope you’re having a great last weekend before, really the big holiday break.
So hope you’ve got all your holiday preparations underway.
On Sundays, we like to answer questions from the community and today I’ve got a question, an anonymous question, but it’s an important one.
And this person was wondering, what’s the deal with the flashing green light? And how do you get that to stop when you see a light on your Echo device.
Well, I’ll tell you, there’s sort of two ways that that green light can show up, first of all.
One is it can be sort of a pulsing, flashing green light on and off, on and off and that means that there’s an incoming call, or an act of call or an act of drop in.
And so if there’s an incoming call, what you would say is Alexa answer call and if you are in the middle of a call, you would say hang up.
If you see a spinning green light, so the green light is going around the circumference of the device, that does mean that it is an act of call or a drop in is ready for you.

And again, similar commands, you can say, “Alexa, hang up” to end that.
Or if you’re not really sure why that happened, you can always go back into your voice history and see if Alexa misheard what you said, and was doing something that you weren’t expecting.
The other thing is, if you really don’t want to have that option available, the drop in or the calls, you can actually go into your settings and turn off the drop in feature.
And the other thing is, you could actually turn off communications for specific, (almost said the ‘A’ word) for specific Alexa devices if you want to do that through your settings as well.
So I hope that gives you a little bit of insight into what that green light is all about and how you can get rid of it, if you don’t want it there or don’t want those features.
Have a wonderful day, I’m excited about the podcast and the flash briefings that we have coming up this week.
Some kind of fun things for the holidays, and I hope you’ll tune in.
So have a wonderful rest of your weekend, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
