How to get Echo Show 8 to Look Straight Ahead

Hey, hey Teri here, now Saturdays are normally our days for commands but I’m going to switch it up a little bit just this week, because tomorrow’s Father’s Day, and I want to give you some fun Father’s Day commands tomorrow.

Today, I want to answer a question from the community and this one comes from our Facebook community and this is Wayne Patenaude, I hope I said your name right, Wayne.

And Wayne has a question about his Echo Show 8 and home monitoring, he notes that there’s basically an upward tilt of the camera on the Echo Show 8 and so it seems to be pointing up at the ceiling.

Now, I cannot confirm this, because I’m not sure about that but so other people comment, in particular, Sandra, suggested that he put a small wedge under it so that it’s pointing more straight ahead and she also says that she has the Echo Show 5, and it works well point straight ahead.

Now, I would love to get some feedback from others in the community and if you’re part of the Facebook group, then please go ahead and post it on the question there.

Yes, I mean, putting a wedge under it is an option but I can understand that’s not a great solution, the interesting thing is the newer models of the Echo Show devices have a camera that has a digital Pan and Zoom.

So and again, I haven’t been able to try those either, but that might be a solution going forward, again, that’s not a great solution for you, Wayne with your original or with your current Echo Show 8.

So I don’t know, you know, it’s not the best answer, I realized a wedge or a new device are probably the best answers for getting it to, you know, look straight ahead, otherwise, again, we’d love to hear from other people in the community.
