Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #11
Hey there, it’s March already, can you believe it? I don’t know where the time has gone.
Anyway, it’s a new month and I want to start off this month with a another skill that you may find really useful, particularly if you are of the, let’s say forgetful type.
This skill is called the find my phone and you enable it the way you normally enables skills and it’s pretty cool. It’s pretty simple but effective skill.
Basically what it does is if you lose your phone, you say, “Alexa, find my phone” and your phone will ring to help you find it.
And the way you enabled this is as I said you enable the skill and then once you do that, you give. That is actually Alexa doing it because I just said the command, so I know it works.
Basically how you do it is you enter your phone number, then a security code gets sent to your phone and then you enter that.
And when you have done that, it’s enabled. And then it’s as simple as saying those magic words, which I’m not going to say again right now just to prevent my phone from ringing again.
Useful, particularly if you are of the, let’s say forgetful type.
There’s a couple other commands that this skill can understand. So you can actually say, ask, “find my phone” to add another number, and then you can add your partner’s number or your kid’s number or whatever.
And then if you need to find that person’s phone, then you can say, you know, ask, “find my phone to call, whoever it is”.
You know, when you just put in the name there. So it’s pretty neat, there’s lots you can do with it. It’s pretty effective.
There you go and hopefully you find that very useful. And again, a reminder just a couple of days left to enter to win the Echo Dot.
I know I’ve been talking about it a lot, but truth is, I really appreciate you supporting this flash briefing so early on.
And so it’s my way of rewarding one of the listeners. I wish I could give you all an Echo Dot, rewarding one of the listeners for the tremendous support.
So check it out at VoiceinCanada.ca the details are all there. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
