Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1363
Hello, hello. Teri here. Happy Friday. I want to tell you about a new feature that has come up on the Alexa app. I just noticed this. I updated my Alexa app.
So by the way, a little public service announcement there. If you haven’t been updating your Alexa app, then make sure you do so because you occasionally will see some new features.
This one’s under the devices icon. If you click on the “Devices” icon, you can see that you have a “Favorites” area there now.
What that means is that Alexa learns which of the devices you are most often using, and we’ll start off by putting some favorites into that area.
And once you do that, you then can simply click on the favorite, and it will control that smart light, for example, if it happens to be a smart light.

You can also click on the three little dots, and that will bring you to another screen where you can control that particular device in a little more detail, and also create a routine directly including that smart home device.
You can of course, sort and edit your favorite section by clicking the “Edit” button next to the word “Favorites” And then you can choose what you want to have on your favorites section.
This is a nice handy way of having basically a control panel for your smart home devices that are also connected to Alexa.
But this of course can be done with your phone just by pushing the particular icon if you don’t want to use your voice at that time. So there you go.
Little tip for you. Remember. Update your Alexa app. I think that’s the bottom line here. And you’ll get some more features.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
