Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #500

Welcome to episode 500 of Voice in Canada. Thank you for being here. For those of you that have been listening since episode number one, thank you, thank you so much. This is a huge milestone, 500 days of flash briefings, nonstop.

I apologize for the length of this flash briefing. Normally I try to keep them between one and two minutes, but I do have a lot to tell you today as we are launching something brand new and so please just bear with me today.

I promise they’re not always going to be this long. This is a little bit of an exception. Here’s the deal.

First of all, I have to say thank you to the listeners again for the support over the last year and a half with the flash briefing, you have been tremendous and you have made this flash briefing, ever since the beginning, the number one flash briefing in Canada.

I cannot thank you enough for that, for all of your reviews, for all of your ratings, for all your support, for all of your comments, for all of your questions and being a part of the community. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.

This would not be here if it weren’t for you. Number two, I want to thank all the guests that have supported the Alexa in Canada brand. For coming on podcasts and again for making that what it is today.

I would not be here without you either, and that is going to be part of what we talk about going forward here. To celebrate the 500th flash briefing episode, I wanted to do something completely different.

I wanted to get creative, I wanted to take flash briefings to an entirely new level. To my knowledge, what I’m about to launch and share with you has never been done for flash briefings in the history of the Amazon Echo devices.

So this is really, really exciting as well for that reason. Here is the deal. As of today, we are launching a gamified version of this flash briefing. Right here.

Yes, you heard me right? You are now going to be able to play an interactive game with this flash briefing right now, and the first installment of this game happens in this very flash briefing.

In order to be able to play, you will have to be able to crack the code. What does that mean? Well, I may have already put out a clue in this flash briefing, or there may be a clue coming up. But essentially, every single day for the next two weeks there will be some type of puzzle or riddle in this flash briefing.

If you can figure out the answer to this, then you will go to a brand new Alexa skill, Crack the Code, where you will interact with that skill and have a discussion about what you think is the answer to that particular riddle.

If you can answer those riddles and solve the puzzles on a regular basis, then you will get the pieces that you need to crack the final code. And if you can do that, then you are eligible to win some incredible prizes.

Now, even if you don’t crack the final code, just for participating, you are eligible to win a participation prize. Let me tell you about the prizes.

Just for participating, you are eligible to win a participation prize.

Episode 500! Crack the Code Clue #1

For the participation prize, there will be the latest Echo Dot, the Echo Dot third generation up for grabs, but even more impressive, let me tell you about the grand prize.

If you are able to crack the final code, you are in the running for the following, all three of these things, your own brand new Echo Show 5, the latest Echo device, which I believe personally is going to be one of the top sellers for Amazon.

You will get an entry to the Voice Summit, a conference coming up. Of course, that is courtesy of Pete Erickson and the Voice Summit team, so a big, big shout out, and a big, big thank you to Pete and his team for that entry.

And, you will receive a one year’s subscription premium account to the VoiceXP platform, which allows you to simply fill in some fields and create your own Alexa skill.

You do not need to know how to code by any means. This is the simplest way to create an Alexa skill today. The retail value of this account alone is approximately 2,700 US dollars.

When we add in the other prizes, we’re looking at a grand prize package of over $3,000, and I have to give a huge shout out to Bob Stolzberg and his team from VoiceXP who have donated this prize, and also, I have to give a huge shout out to Bob for helping me to create the crack the code skill.

I appreciate that very, very much. Bob has been an absolute pleasure to work with and together we had a lot of fun designing this so that it works and we can now take this flash briefing to the next level and create this gamified experience for flash briefings.

Now, of course, the prizes are a way for me to express my thanks and appreciation to you for tuning in and supporting the brand.

And the other thing that I want to do, as I briefly mentioned, is I want to express thanks to the guests who each made significant contributions to the brand as well.

And over the next two weeks, I will be sharing some of the contributions that they made and some of the highlights of things that I think are really important for you to know.

Today I want to highlight Bret Kinsella, who of course, is the brains behind VoiceBot.ai. If you’re not subscribed to VoiceBot.ai, you’ve got to check them out.

They are the leading authority website as far as voice technology goes. It’s not just Alexa there, it’s everything. And so, Bret came on the podcast on episode 28 and we talked about the origins of VoiceBot.ai.

We even talked about the month – yes, the month! – that he started VoiceBot.ai and it was a real pleasure to have that discussion with him and go back to some of the history of VoiceBot. To hear that episode, you can always go back to AlexainCanada.ca/28, or simply search for it on your favorite podcast player.

So, if you haven’t had a chance, you know, check out episode number 28 with Bret Kinsella and VoiceBot.ai and you also might want to check out AlexainCanada.ca/CrackTheCode. Look, have fun with crack the code. The first clue is out there. Now you have to go find it.
