Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1445

Hello, hello. Teri here. Hope you’re doing well as always. Today, I just want to talk about what to do if your Echo device is acting strangely.

So if you are trying to get Alexa to do something, and it’s not working, what do you do? Well, I have three different suggestions for you.

And hopefully one of these will solve the issue for you.

The first one is actually just to unplug the device, wait about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

Basically, what you’re doing is asking the device to reboot. Oftentimes, just simply doing that will solve the issue that you’re having.

So give that one a try first of all. If that doesn’t seem to fix the issue, do make sure that your internet connection is up and running.

You can check it on an Echo Show because you’ll actually have a notification in the upper right corner if the device is not connected to Wi-Fi.

You can also check in the app, you can click on the devices, click on Echo and Alexa, and then tap the device and look at the status box.

Device Troubleshooting Options for Your Echo Devices

Finally, if the internet seems to be up and running, you can always do a factory reset. And you do that the same way.

You click on the devices button in your app, you then click on Echo and Alexa, and then select the device, then you’ll see a status box, you click on that and if you scroll all the way down, you’ll see factory reset.

Keep in mind that when you do this, the device will be erased. It’ll be as if you had just basically purchased it and you were taking it out of the box.

Which by the way, you should do if you ever give it to somebody else, that you wipe all your personal information. So try those three things.

Unplug it, check the internet connection, and do a factory reset and hopefully one of those will solve your issues.

Hopefully you don’t have any issues. But if you do, then you’ve got a game plan.

Alright! Hope you’re doing well. Talk to you tomorrow.
