Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #54
Hey there. So today I want to tell you a little bit about a particular post that I wrote on my website.
I don’t always do this, but I thought it’d be fun to bring your attention to something that I have a particular interest in, being a physician and that’s how Alexa is going to be used and it’s starting to be used to completely transform healthcare.
Now, as you know, Alexa has been in the United States for over three years and so they’re a little bit further ahead, but I started thinking about how Alexa can actually transform Canadian healthcare.
And I wrote an article about it and I’ll just tell you right now, you can find it on the website at obviously I have to say the word AlexainCanada.ca.
If anybody knows a better way that I can say my name and my website without triggering Alexa, let me know.
But anyway, you can find it @AlexainCanada.ca/Healthcare and I’ll just tell you a little bit about it.
Basically, I write this article saying that, you know, for as long as I can remember ever since I was a medical student we’ve had issues with access to healthcare in Canada.
Imagine if Alexa was like your own personal healthcare navigator.
And I started basically letting my imagination run wild and thinking about how devices like Alexa could help change healthcare and I talk about lots of really cool ideas I think, but one in particular is that, just imagine if Alexa was like your own personal healthcare navigator in your home, almost like a triage nurse and you could ask Alexa like what’s going on with your health and it would know what medications you’re on and how it could best guide you.
Do need to see your family doctor, can it wait a week.Do need to see your family doctor now, do you need to go to emergency and how that would take pressure off the system.
If we all had this assistant in our home helping us to navigate what we’re doing, I think it’d be remarkable. Anyway, I discussed this on a podcast called the Voice of Healthcare.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
