Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1169
Hey, hey Teri here with your flash briefing for Sunday and as you know, if you’ve been following along, Sunday is the day we get to answer questions from the community.
And today’s question comes out of the Facebook group and by the way, if you’re not part of the Facebook group and you want to be just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community.
This is a really great question and here’s the thing, I actually don’t have an answer, I’m looking to you, the community members here in Northern voice to help answer this question, because I think it’s a great one.
This is from Sandy Poole, and she says, I’m hoping someone can help me with this.
The issue is, as part of her good night routine for the bedside Echo Show 8, the customized command tells the device to turn off it’s screen.
the keys are that she wants to have the screen come back on some time after sunrise without having to say anything to Alexa.
But what she’d like to do is have the screen silently come back on again sometime after sunrise so that she can see what time it is when she’s awake and she doesn’t have to actually ask Alexa and alert her dogs that she’s awake.
So it’s a great use case, she’s tried lots of wording she’s even tried a custom time of day routine to tell Alexa to turn the screen back on again but none of them have worked.
So the keys are that she wants to have the screen come back on some time after sunrise without having to say anything to Alexa.
So I’m throwing this out to all of you, the community to see if we can troubleshoot this and help her out, like i said if you want to directly respond to in the community go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community you’ll see the post.
Otherwise, happy to have you send me a message on Twitter and my Twitter handle is DrTeriFisher, and hopefully we can troubleshoot this find a great answer for for Sandy and then we can share that.
So there we are, there’s your task if you choose to accept your mission, alright?
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend, talk to you tomorrow.
