Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1085
Hello, happy Sunday, it is Teri here with your flash briefing and on Sundays as normal we like to answer questions from the community.
And today we’ve got a question from Kathy Ames, again from the Facebook group.
And if you want to join our Facebook group, please feel free, you just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community.
So her question is this, she got her Alexa device, she’s finding all kinds of fun things to do with it, but she’s having some issues with having it answer incoming mobile phone calls.
No problem calling out but can’t find a way to answer the incoming calls, am I missing something?
Well, you’re not missing something and I just want to give a shout out to those of you in the community that answered the question.
Keith said that the device can answer calls to the device, but not to the mobile phone. And then Patrick also said that incoming calls have to be from contacts that also have a Alexa device.
So it’s like a separate type of communication between the devices and that is different from Drop In.
Drop In is just the ability to Drop In on somebody who has given you permission, but you can actually make calls but the catch is yes, it has to be if you’re going to be receiving a call, it has to be from a person who is making that call with a Alexa device to your Alexa device.
every weekday except Tuesdays, I am now hosting a happy hour on Clubhouse,
So I hope that does help, Kathy, for everybody else I hope that does help as well, I know, it’s a little bit confusing but that is the way it currently works.
Hopefully going forward, there will be more functionality there that makes things a little bit more streamlined.
Just before I sign out today, I want to tell you that starting tomorrow, Monday, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so every weekday except Tuesdays, I am now hosting a happy hour on Clubhouse, courtesy of The Voice Den.
It’s the happy hour of voice it’s going to be every day at 4:30pm pacific time, please join us.
It’s just about hanging out, maybe bring a drink or some snacks with you and you log in and introduce yourself, we’d love to learn a little about you.
And it’s an opportunity for us to continue to grow the community, so again, that’s every day every weekday, except Tuesdays at 4:30pm on Clubhouse.
You can just find me there and find the events my username there is Dr. Teri Fisher.
And tomorrow on Monday we’re also doing an interview on clubhouse, I’ll tell you about that tomorrow, take care.
