I’ve got an interesting little news story today, and this comes a lot of data that was reported in Canada’s Internet Fact Book, basically a comprehensive look at Canadians internet usage habits during the era of COVID-19, so get ready for this.
They looked at how people Canadians were interacting with their voice-activated assistance, whether they were polite or not.
And so let me ask you two questions and see if you can guess these numbers and I’ll tell you the answers.
What percentage of Canadians say, please, and thank you to their voice-activated assistance and what percentage of Canadians have sworn at their voice-activated assistant, what do you think?
7 in 10 Canadians, so 70% of Canadians say, please, and thank you
Alright, here are the numbers and I’m pleased to report that 7 in 10 Canadians, so 70% of Canadians say, please, and thank you to their voice-activated assistant and one-third so 3 in 10 or 33% of Canadians have sworn at their voice-activated assistant.
I’m quite happy to hear that we Canadians are living up to our reputation and even if it’s Alexa that we are speaking with, we are still being polite and most of us are saying, please, and thank you.
I generally do say that actually and a minority of us, I’m still quite surprised in some ways that 33% of us are swearing at our voice systems.
