Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #810
Hey there, Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for Friday.
And if you listened yesterday, you know that I was talking about a rumor that Amazon had released a free tier of being able to listen to their music and that you wouldn’t necessarily be able to specify the specific bands or that sort of thing, but you could specify a particular genre and it would play the music and it would have some ads.
Now, I also mentioned that I haven’t been able to try this personally, but I did ask for feedback and really, really great, thank you, thank you so much.
I did receive feedback from Patrick, Patrick Doyle, and I’m going to just basically read you the message that he posted because this confirms that it works and I think it’s actually pretty cool for a free service.
So this is what Patrick wrote, he says that him and his wife have two accounts, she has prime and he doesn’t, so he was able to test this on his account.
Amazon had released a free tier of being able to listen to their music.
So again, this is for somebody that does not have prime and so for example, he says he asked for music and it played Amazon, it played nineties rock.
So you can play different genres, he goes on to say that it’ll play like sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties.
He hadn’t tried saying other things like pop or country, but I suspect it would probably do that as well.
He said that there are commercials and they are two back to back about prime music, both limited and unlimited services, and he estimates that they play probably every hour or so.
So if you’re looking for a free music service that gives you some control over the genre of what you can play, but you can’t specify the specific band with a specific song and you don’t mind the occasional ad, then this may be for you.
So, really big thank you to Patrick, I really appreciate that, Patrick, for sharing that with us with the community Northern voice and I think this is a great service.
So check it out even if you don’t have prime you can still listen to some music on your echo device.
Alright, talk to you later.
