Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #400
Hello, it’s Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for Monday, and this is flash briefing number 400. 400 flash briefings nonstop. It has been quite a ride. I have had so much pleasure bringing this to you. And, I just wanted to say, thank you.
I know I say thank you quite a bit, but I can never say thank you enough, so thank you for making this community what it is. The flash briefing has been a smashing success, and I have you to thank for that.
Today on this 400th episode, there a big milestone that has happened with Alexa in Canada that I want to tell you about, particularly if you are a French speaker. As of right now, Alexa officially can speak Canadian French.
So, I know I’ve been getting lots and lots of questions about this. “When is Alexa gonna speak French in Canada? When is Alexa going to be able to talk to me in French?”, and so on. Well, it is official. Amazon actually sent out a letter just last week saying that Alexa can speak French.
There a big milestone that has happened with Alexa in Canada.
And so, if you have been waiting for this, now is the time to initiate this feature. The way you do it is very, very simple. You go into your Alexa app, you go to settings, you then click on device settings, and you select the device that you want to change the language for.
And then you simply scroll down and you will see a place where it says language. Then you click on that, and you can now choose French Canada, or more specifically when you’re looking at the list, Francais Canada.
And there you go. And now you can talk to Alexa in French. So, I know a lot of you have been waiting for this. Enjoy, it’s a big milestone, and I thought it was an appropriate announcement for this 400th episode. Talk to you again tomorrow.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
