Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #453

Alright. Welcome to your flash briefing for today. I want to give you a little update on what is happening with Windows 10 and Alexa.

For those of you that are Windows 10 users, you may know that you can actually use Alexa on your Windows computer, on your PC, but it hasn’t been quite as seamless as just using an Echo device, because you actually had to push a button to talk to Alexa, which kind of defeats the purpose of having voice technology in your computer.

Anyway, what I want to let you know today, is that there is now an Alexa update available for Windows 10, which now truly gives you hands-free communication with Alexa on your PC.

You still have to open that app, but once the app is open, you’ll be able to speak, and ask questions, and give commands to Alexa just as you normally would with your Echo device.

So, this is pretty neat, you can now do this with the PC. I find this very interesting on one level where Microsoft and Amazon are actually playing quite nicely together to support each other in these voice technology endeavors, despite the fact that they each have their own assistants, Microsoft Cortana, and Amazon Alexa.

… which now truly gives you hands-free communication with Alexa on your PC.

So there you go. Give it a shot. I hope you will enjoy that. And, today I just want to give another quick shout out to another person that left a great review about the flash briefing.

She goes by Juny. She writes, “Great updates.” She says “Great info and updates, features. Sometimes the information is above my level of understanding, but still, I listen.” Well, thanks Juny.

And, I do try to give a variety of types of information, and news, and products. So, I recognize that sometimes people are at different levels.

I do my best to provide the service for everybody, but I do appreciate that feedback, and I will definitely take that into account.

But again, thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the review. I really truly appreciate it. If anybody else wants to leave a review, please just go to VoiceinCanada.ca, you’ll click on the red button, and you’re all set. Okay, have a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
