Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #99
Hey there, I hope you’re doing well. So it’s been a little while since I did a skill review and I think in honor of the NHL Playoffs and the Stanley Cup finals, I thought we needed to do a good Air Horn skill review.
So pretty simple here, what you do is you go into Alexa and you say enable Air Horn and from that point on you can simply say, “Alexa ask Air Horn to honk” or “Alexa Open Air Horn and start” and it will just blast a good old fashioned air horn.
And you can do that anytime your favorite team scores. In my case right now for the finals, I’m going for Las Vegas.
Just cause I think it’s such a cool story. I don’t know if you’re going for Washington, we can debate that.
We can debate that on the Facebook community page if you want that AlexainCanada.ca/Community.
It will just blast a good old fashioned air horn.
Here’s one interesting thing I noticed though, is that when you actually go to the skill store and you search for Air Horn in the Canadian skill store, there’s currently one, two, three, four, five, six different skills and this is one of the issues now with skills that are being developed is that it’s hard to know which skill is being referred to, when you say those magic words Alexa enabled Air Horn, which one is it going to pick?
And you can imagine how this is going to have implications for different businesses that aren’t getting on the Voice First Technology bandwagon early.
So in any case the particular one that I enabled was Air Horn by Benedict Bille and anyway, it’s a good one, It’s pretty simple.
It does sound Air Horn, which is kind of what I wanted, so it works for me. But anyway, you can play around with them.
There’s lots of different ones and let’s enjoy this playoffs. All right, go Vegas.
Go Canucks actually, but canucks are not there and they won’t be there for a while.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
