Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #742

Hey there, it’s Sunday hope you’re having a fantastic weekend.

It’s Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing and today on Sunday I want to ask or to answer.

I’d love to ask you guys questions too, that’s a good idea.

But today I want to answer your questions and this question is coming from Tina Clark in the Facebook group, in the community page.

If you want to access our community, if you want to become part of that, you simply go to AlexainCanada.ca/Community.

Now, Tina ask a bunch of questions and I really want to focus on one of these cause I think it’s a really great question and there are so many people that I believe could benefit from this.

Here’s what she asks. She says, “I have four different Dots set up in my Amazon account. One is at my Dad’s, both grandmothers have one and then I have one in my home. My question is if I set up a reminder for my grandmother to take her pills at 10:00 AM every day, will all four dots voice the reminder in all four households.”

And I want to say that Patrick Doyle stepped up their and as did Katherine Russell in the community and they answered the question.

This is going to be a very interesting use case as our population gets older.

Reminders for Other Echo Devices

And so Patrick said, you can set reminders in the Alexa app for her Dot and it will only go off on hers.

So that’s absolutely true, it’s the same with routine, same with reminders.

You can choose which device you want it to go off on and assuming that the grandmother’s Dot, the device, is on the same account as Tina’s account, then she will have control over setting up those reminders and routines and so on.

So, Patrick and Katherine both chimed in to answer some of Tina’s other questions.

But this question in particular, I really wanted to highlight because I think this is going to be a very interesting use case as our population gets older and people are looking to help support particularly their aging parents.

Just as another aside, if you’re interested, I have recently just announced the launch of a book that I wrote, I coauthored with a number of people called Voice Technology in Healthcare and this question very much aligns with that.

So if you are interested in learning more about this particular book, then you can simply go to VoiceFirstHealth.com/Book that is my other website and podcast Voice First Health.

And I encourage you to check that out, if that has any interest to you.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and I will talk to you tomorrow.
