Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #689

Hey there. It’s Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for today.

And today, I’ve got a short and sweet little tip for you when using Alexa.

As a lot of people know, you can control the volume of your devices simply by saying, “Alexa, volume up”, “Alexa, volume down”, and so on.

But what I have discovered, is that a number of community members are not aware that you can have a little bit more control over the volume.

For example, the volume can range numerically from 1 to 10, 10 being the loudest.

And so, if you find that you like the volume somewhere in the middle ground, then you can simply say to Alexa, “Alexa, set volume to five” or even more precisely, you can just say, “Alexa, volume five.”

This is a very quick way to learn what volume levels you’d like your devices at.

Set Alexa Volume Using Numbers

And, you may find that when you’re listening to your flash briefings, you like it at one level.

When you’re listening to music, you like it at another level.

And so this is a very quick way to learn what volume levels you’d like your devices at, and where to set them and how quickly do that.

The other thing to keep in mind is that depending on which type of device you have, you may find that those preferred volume levels change a little bit.

So experiment with that a little bit, and I hope that that helps you to be just a little bit more efficient in your interactions with Alexa.

Have a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
