Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #609

Hey there, hope you’re having a great weekend, and as it is on a Sunday, I want to answer a question from the community.

This one actually came from an email, and it came from Barough S. and the question is as follows, “Amazon announced an upgraded voice for Alexa, but I’m not noticing an improvement. Do you know if this roll out happened, or if it was just announced, and is it available in Canada?”

Well, here’s the bottom line. I don’t have a great answer for you, other than the fact that I don’t think it has necessarily been rolled out.

Certainly not in Canada yet. I haven’t seen anything to my knowledge about if this is going to come to Canada, or when it does.

If anybody out there in the community does know some information about this, you can direct me to some. I’d really appreciate that.

They have created a more lifelike sounding voice.

Question When is the Upgraded Voice Launching

But, the bottom line behind this is, using some of the AI and some of the machine learning, and the neural networks that Amazon uses to power the Alexa voice service, they have announced that they have created a more lifelike sounding voice, specifically when it comes to broadcasting news.

And also, separately, they have announced that they are going to have the celebrity voices, in particular, they have announced Samuel L. Jackson.

So, this will be an upgraded Alexa voice in general. There will be the option of adding celebrity voices. When this gets rolled out and if it gets rolled out to Canada, that’s the part I’m sorry, I just don’t know.

So, thank you for the question. If anybody does hear anything, please let me know. And if I hear anything, of course, I will be sharing it on the flash briefing.

Thanks for the question, and I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. Talk to you soon.
