Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #519
Hey there, it’s Monday and if you’ve been following along again, you know that this week is Voice Summit, the largest voice event in the world.
We are expecting 5,000 people to be there in Newark and I am getting ready to travel.
In fact, when you’re hearing this, I am on my way to Newark Right now. So here’s a really cool skill that I discovered.
If you use the App, TripIt, it’s a very cool app by the way. You forward various travel documents like itineraries, your flight, your hotel, and it just assembles it all in one nice little package.
Anyway, I just discovered that Alexa has a skill that works with TripIt. You just say, “Alexa, open TripIt” and now you can ask all kinds of questions to Alexa about your upcoming travel.
You can ask for a flight summary. What time is your flight? What’s your airline? What type of aircraft, what’s the weather like at the destination?
What seat do I have? Duration of the flight? When do I arrive? And there are more features for people that have the TripIt Pro account, the paid account.
I just discovered that Alexa has a skill that works with TripIt.
I have the free account and it’s very cool because now I can just talk to Alexa and I can get updates on when I should leave to the airport and my flight and all this kind of stuff.
So if you do traveling and particularly if you use TripIt, you might want to check this one out. I think it’s pretty good.
Now just before I sign off, I haven’t done this in a long time. I do want to give a shout out to someone who left a review a little while back. This is Mark Y he left a review for the skill on the Amazon skill store.
He gave it five stars. So thank you Mark and he wrote, “Must have for all of you Canadians”. He also writes, “I listened to you almost every morning and love the tips and tricks you do. Keep up the great work, Teri.”
Mark hey, thank you so much, I really, really appreciate that. That’s why I do this and if anybody else would like to leave a review, it means the world to me.
You simply go to VoiceinCanada.ca and you click on the red button there that says leave review. And finally, if you did play along with Cracked the Code, I sent you an email recently with your free gift and a link to a survey.
If you can fill out that survey, some of you have, and I really appreciate that. If you have just a few moments to fill out the survey, that would be wonderful because it really helps me to determine what to do next with that skill.
Have a great day and I’m going to be coming to you live tomorrow from Voice Summit.
