Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #80
So here’s a really fun skill for you to try on this fine Wednesday. Do you remember watching the TV game show deal or no deal with Howie Mendell?
Well, somebody has developed the equivalent Alexa skill of that TV game show deal or no deal and I got to tell you, I love it.
I admit that I used to love that TV game show. I thought I’d be the, you know, the smarty pants and can outsmart the system in terms of which case I would pick and I’d play along and I’d try to think if I could make the best deal or no deal but anyway, now you can play it and the skill is actually just called deal or no deal.
For those of you who don’t know what this is, it’s a very simple, but it’s a very intriguing game in that there’s 20 briefcases, theoretically 20 briefcases and each one has a different amount of money in it ranging from one penny all the way up to $1 million.
You get to pick one case initially and that’s the one that you’re holding onto for the rest of the game and then you have to sequentially open a certain number of cases.
Alexa skill of that TV game show deal or no deal.
And at certain points along the game, the quote banker offers you a deal and saying they will pay you out a certain amount of money if you give up the case that you’re holding onto and remember, you don’t know what’s in your actual case, but as you sequentially open the cases that are left, it gives you a clue as to what might still be in your case.
So for example, if you open, if you choose a case and open the one with the $1 million in it, then you know, the one that you’re holding doesn’t have the $1 million. So, hope that’s making sense. Anyway, it’s a really fun game and it’s done really well with Alexa.
And if you use the Alexa App as well, you can actually keep track of which cases you’ve picked and what you haven’t picked and what values of money are still left for you to pick from and will help you to negotiate your best deal with the banker.
So I like it. It allows me to play deal or no deal, and I recommend you give it a try.
If you’re looking for a fun game or a way to kill some time, this is a good one.
So check it out, deal or no deal, and you can find a link to all the skills that are good for Canada that work in Canada @AlexainCanada/Skills.
