Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #77
So here’s a great new story for Canadians as far as Amazon goes. Amazon keeps pumping out the news stories.
There’s so much happening, and this one truly is specific for Canadians, so yay Canada.
Here’s the deal, Amazon has just announced that it plans to expand it’s Vancouver tech hub furthermore, to create 3000 new jobs in Vancouver.
So in Canada, but specifically in Vancouver. Now Amazon already has about 6,000 people working in Canada, and about a thousand of those are in Vancouver.
So with the addition of 3000 more jobs in Vancouver, we’re looking at four out of the 9,000 jobs that are going to be in Vancouver.
So Vancouver is becoming a tech hub specifically for Amazon. This is really exciting because as we Canadians know, we want more of the Amazon products and services in Canada, and if they’re going to the lengths of hiring thousands and thousands of people in Canada, that can only be a good thing.
Amazon has just announced that it plans to expand it’s Vancouver tech hub.
So the headquarters are actually going to be, if you’re familiar with Vancouver where the old Canada post plant was downtown on Georgia street.
It’s a huge, a huge facility and it’s very exciting. I just did a quick look to see in terms of jobs that are available for Canadians and specifically for people in Vancouver with Amazon.
And if you just search Amazon jobs, Vancouver, you’ll actually find that there’s about 180 jobs right now that are posted if you’re interested in working for Amazon and particularly in Vancouver.
So, very exciting I’m glad to see that Vancouver is becoming a key player in Amazon, and more importantly that just that we have Canadians that are going to be working with Amazon.
Which can only mean that more of the products and services are going to be available in Canada in the near future.
