Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #110

So today I want to cover a few more Alexa commands that you may find useful in your day to day activities.

Today let’s talk about alarms and timers and I want to do a series of these types of command tutorial flash briefings if you will, so that I can help you to get more out of Alexa and give you more commands that you can use that’ll help with your productivity during the day. So alarms and timers.

I’m going to whip through a couple of different commands here that you can use with Alexa and these are all going to help to keep you on time hopefully, as long as you’re listening to Alexa, they should help you to keep you on time.

There you go. So what can you do with Alexa? Well, you can say, “Alexa, set an alarm for 7:00 AM” or 5:00 AM or 3:00 AM if you really want to get up early, whatever time you can set that, you can set the alarm.

You can say, “Alexa, wake me up at five in the morning”. She will understand that you can do set a repeating alarm for weekdays at 7:00 AM you can set timers.

So I almost said the word that was going to make our devices go crazy. Alexa, set a timer for 15 minutes, set a timer for 10 minutes and you can name those timers.

They keep my family, my kids and I are on time.

Alarms and Timer Commands

So if you’ve got multiple timers going on, you can say, “Alexa, set a pizza timer for 20 minutes” or as my daughter likes to say, “Alexa set a super duper yummy pizza timer for 20 minutes”.

And when you ask Alexa, “Hey Alexa, how much time is left on my timer?” And she will say, “there is 15 minutes left on your super duper”.

I Can’t even say it. “Super Duper yummy pizza timer”. So it’s fun. You can ask her, what are my timers?

You can of course say, “Alexa cancel the pizza timer”, or “canceled the 15 minute timer” and those are the types of things that are going to hopefully keep you on time.

Of course also with alarms, you can say, “when is my next alarm” or “cancel my alarm for 2:00 PM”. You can say “Alexa snooze” as well.

So there you go. Hopefully these are some things that will manage to help keep you on time.

I know they help keep me, my family and my kids that’s poor English.

They keep my family, my kids and I are on time and it can be quite helpful when I’m getting them ready for school in the morning and they know they have to beat the timer in order to have their you know, that they are ready on time to get breakfast and get dressed and so on.

So hope that helps you as well. Have a great day.
