Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #414
Hello, it’s Teri Fisher here, and welcome to your Monday flash briefing. There has been a number of announcements over the past little while about how various manufacturers and devices are now supporting Canadian French language on Alexa.
And, I just wanted to let you know about the latest announcement that I came across. Now you may already be aware that you can use Skype through Alexa to make calls to various countries. I’ve actually reported that previously on the flash briefing.
And by the way, if you ever are wondering what we’ve covered on the flash briefing, you can simply go to VoiceinCanada.ca and I’ve got all of them there, and you can actually search on the website, and you will find any relevant flash briefings about those topics.
But, I’m getting off topic right now, but basically, there has just been an announcement that Microsoft has said that Skype with Alexa is now available, in addition to Canada, and United States, of course.
It’s available in France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Spain. So you can call those countries. But, the other thing, is that they’ve announced that there is now French support for users in Canada.
So, you can now use Skype in French on your Alexa device to call a number of different countries.
You can now use Skype in French on your Alexa device to call a number of different countries.
So you do have to, of course, pair your Skype account with your Alexa account. You do that by going into your Alexa app and going into your settings, and you can set it all up in there, but it’s nice for those of you that speak French, and want to use Skype, you now have another option.
And finally, before I sign off today, I want to give another shout out. I received another five-star review of the flash briefing, which was just fantastic. I really appreciate it. And this is from Corinne Clark.
And I think I’ve pronounced that right. I hope Corinne, sorry if I did not. Five stars. “Flash briefing is the best way to start your day. Excellent. First thing I do each day is listen to my flash briefing. Relevant topics and optimistic voice.”
Thanks. Appreciate that very, very much. And, like I said…, like I’ve said a number of times, if you leave a review, then I feel like the least I can do is acknowledge that effort. And, I give you a shout out here, so thanks very much for that one.
I hope you have a great day. And tomorrow we’ve got another podcast. Talk to you then.
