Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #382
It’s Thursday. Teri here, hope you’re having a great day. And, today I want to give you a…, I almost said the A word, an Alexa tip that you can use if you need to change your Wi-Fi network for your Echo Dot.
Now the different devices, in some cases, they do or have a little bit differently, but the Dot is the most common device. So we’ll start with that one today.
So, if you are moving to a different place, if you forget your Wi-Fi network, or you have to reset it for some reason, or you’re traveling with your Dot, how do you change the Wi-Fi network? Pretty simple.
You go to your Alexa app, you click on the menu button, you click on your device settings tab, and then you click on the particular device. When you do that, you will see there is an area where you see Wi-Fi network, and that’ll have your current network listed underneath it.
You click on change, and then, the rest of it is actually pretty self-explanatory because you just follow the instructions that are on the screen.
I’ve had to do this a number of times when I travel with my Echo Dot.
So you click continue, and then, you need to have your Dot in the pairing mode, so that it will look for a new Wi-Fi network. And, if you’re first setting up your Dot, then it will be in that mode, but if not, you need to click on the action button, which is the button with the little dot.
You just hold it down for six seconds and then the light will turn from blue to orange. You tap continue and then you pair it to the new Wi-Fi network. Pretty simple. Like I said, the rest of it is pretty self-explanatory.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
