Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #351
Alright, here’s the latest news coming out of Amazon about just how much damage this company did during the holiday season of 2018. There are some stats that come out that says that obviously, Amazon had an incredible year when it comes to sales, largely driven by, of course, the Echo devices, but here are some actual numbers, and these are just mind-boggling numbers.
Get this, their 4th quarter earnings, okay, so we’re talking October to December, exceeded everybody’s expectations. They profited, this is a profit of $3 Billion. That’s billion with a B, and that was on sales of $72.4 B worth of goods that were sold.
That’s a 20% increase year over year. It is just incredible. That is immense growth. And of course, that was largely due to the Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and all of the holiday promotions that were going on. I know I jumped in on some of those holiday promotions.
I’m sure a lot of you listening to this jumped in on those holiday promotions, and every time I hear numbers like these, it just blows me away in terms of just how much volume Amazon is doing.
