Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #245

Alright, hope you’re having a great Sunday morning. Today I’d like to answer another question from our Facebook community page, which can be joined AlexainCanada.ca/Community. And today’s question comes actually as a follow-up question to somebody that posted something in the Facebook group. So we had Dana who posted a picture of the equalizer option which is now available in the Alexa app.

And Mark Reed said, “Thanks for that, but how do you actually get to the equalizer in the app? It’s not that easy to find” So, thank you to Dana for helping out with that. And I thought I’d share the answer to this question to everybody listening to the flash briefing. So if you want to adjust your equalizer, the Alexa app has been changed recently, it’s been updated. And so, what you need to do is on the bottom, there’s a new set of icons.

You want to go to the far right icon, which looks like a little house with a couple of switches on it. You click on that, and then you will come to the devices page in your app. You then click on the Echo and Alexa icon in the top left, and then you click on the particular device that you want to set the equalizer for. So, in my case, the top one is bedrooms. I’m gonna click on that.

And then you can see the various settings for that particular device. And if you scroll down under the general heading, you’ll see the option for sounds. You click on sounds, and that will bring you up to another page where you can now adjust the volume of your alarms, your timers, notifications. You can choose to have an ascending alarm, meaning that the alarm gradually gets louder over time.

There are various other things that you can change as well, but the very top option on that page is equalizer. You click on that, and now you’re on the equalizer page, and you can adjust the base, the mid and the treble ranges for the sound coming out of your Echo device. And that is how you can improve the sound to a certain degree based on the particular location of that device.

So I hope that’s helpful. And, there you go. Thanks again to Dana and to Mark, a shout out for participating in the community group, and for the question. And, there you go. Now you can make your Echo sound even better. Talk to you tomorrow.
