Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #253
Hey there, Teri here, and this is your flash briefing for Monday. So, here’s some interesting news. As you know, wearables are big, and, a lot of us have wearable watches, and, fitness trackers, the whole bit, myself included, I’ve got an Apple watch, but here’s the thing. There is a company that has now incorporated Alexa into some glasses. So now there are basically Amazon Alexa smart glasses. It’s a startup company that previously was called Thalmic Labs. They’ve rebranded themselves just recently to a company called North. And, basically, the way it works is, there is a holographic lens that displays an image at about an arm’s length away from the wearer’s face. And, you can activate this, and use Alexa by speaking.
They’re certainly not cheap. They’re retailing for $999 US, and they’re available in two physical locations. You actually have to go into one of these locations, because they have to scan your head and make sure they fit properly and the whole bit.
So this is really interesting just from a future perspective, and, we’re seeing Alexa in many more places.
But, one of those is in Toronto, and one of them is in Brooklyn, New York. So, you can pre-order them online. But again, you have to actually go in to buy them in a physical location. So, if you’re interested in Alexa smart glasses, then definitely search this company, North; and, if you’re in one of those two locations, and maybe you want to go in and check them out, let me know if you do, because I’d be curious to know what your experience is like with these glasses. 1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
