Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #1134
Hey, hey Teri here with your flash briefing for Sunday and Sundays are days that we answer questions from the community.
Today’s question comes from our Facebook community and to join that you just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community.
Rob Kerr asks the question, “So I’m loving my new Echo Show 8 and I also have one of the Blink cameras, it’s great that you can have the show tell you that motion is detected but is there a setting somewhere that will take you directly to the camera view after it’s detected. Thanks to all of you”.
So as usual we had Pete Bready give his comments and thanks Pete is a great answer.
Pete says, cameras don’t support live show on motion detection”, and that’s true, for some devices you can use a routine triggered by the motion detection to then run a customized action to show the camera but that trigger for the Blink camera is USA only as far as he is aware.
camera can detect the motion and alert you to that but it’s not going to automatically show the view
And as far as I’m aware that’s true as well, so if anybody knows anything otherwise then please let us know.
So the simple answer is that the camera can detect the motion and alert you to that but it’s not going to automatically show the view of what the camera is seeing.
You can of course ask manually, “Alexa, show me camera 123”, whatever you call it but that doesn’t really address the question Rob.
So the bottom line is you can’t simply do what you want I imagine this is a feature that’s going to be coming down the pipe soon I hope but there you go.
So I hope that is helpful to you and helpful to other people that may be wondering about the same thing and thanks again to Pete for your contribution there as well.
I hope you’re all having a wonderful, wonderful day and I will talk to you again tomorrow.
