Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #952
Hey there, Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for Sunday.
And on Sundays as usual, we answer questions from the community.
And today’s question comes from Willy A from the Facebook community page, the group.
If you’d like to join that group, by the way, go to AlexainCanada.ca/Community.
Now Willie asks, he has got two questions one is he’s looking for a really good, strong and secure home security system that works with Alexa.
And Part two is he’s looking for a blinds automation system that can be activated via Alexa.
So I’ve got two products, these aren’t the only ones for sure but I got two recommendations for you, Willy and for anybody else that’s looking for similar products.
As far as the Home Security goes, the system that is going to be most integrated with Alexa is going to be something that comes from Amazon.
And as you may know, Amazon purchased ring a little while back, and they actually have a ring alarm system.
And you can choose different systems so you can get it as a 14 piece kit that comes with lots of sensors all the way down to a five piece kit.
You can get a doorbell kit, it includes the ring doorbell, lots of different kits.
So that would be one recommendation, as I said, there are some other ones as well but that’s something that you can look at.
You can also choose, it’s optional to have 24 seven professional monitoring, and then they charge you $15 a month for that, if that’s something that you want to look at.
less expensive options that seems to be getting reasonably good reviews is the system from IKEA.
So there’s that and then, as far as, the blinds go, one of the less expensive options that seems to be getting reasonably good reviews is the system from IKEA.
And so if you’re going to be looking at the IKEA blinds, then you’re gonna need two things, you’re gonna need the the hub basically, what they call the here we go is my pronunciation of these IKEA pieces of hardware, the Tradfri Gateway and that’s on sale for $29.
And that’s basically the hub that allows you to then control the smart products that IKEA makes and you’re going to control them through an app or through Alexa.
And then the actual blinds are in the I don’t know how you pronounce this Fyrtur and they come in different sizes, of course and so yeah, there you go.
I hope that is helpful for you, check out the ring alarms, check out the IKEA suite of smart home products and hopefully that is helpful to you.
If you do choose to purchase anything through Amazon, I’d appreciate it if you use the affiliate link.
The affiliate link is AlexainCanada.ca/Amazon and if you just go there, I get a small commission for sending you that way but the experience for you is the same.
There’s no difference and there’s no extra cost to you whatsoever, if you choose to use it, that’s wonderful, it does go to help support the work that I’m doing.
So have a wonderful rest of your day, wonderful rest of your weekend and tomorrow I’m really excited about the flash briefing.
Please tune in because I’m going to announce something that I just recently launched and it’s an opportunity for you everybody in the community to get featured.
I’ll stop there, talk to you tomorrow.
