Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #852
Hello and happy Friday, it’s time for, yes, the flash briefing for Friday, June 19th, it’s Teri Fisher here.
And getting back to the whole idea of routines, just consider this as a little bit of favorite topic of mine.
I alluded to something earlier in the week that I wanted to just build on a little bit today and that’s the idea of custom routines, particularly using the custom phrase.
And some of you may find that if you’re setting up a custom phrase, that when you put in that phrase, Alexa will just read it like a run-on sentence.
And what I wanted to tell you is that you can actually get Alexa to pause or slow down by using punctuation when you are entering that custom phrase.
You can actually get Alexa to pause or slow down by using punctuation
So if you put a comma, she will actually pause, make a slight pause for a comma, if you put in a period, she will make a longer pause.
And if you put in a question mark, it will actually sound like she is asking a question.
So that’s a way that you can actually influence the way that she speaks, so it’s pretty cool.
If you’re looking for more information on how to set up some custom routines, simply go to AlexainCanada.ca/Routines and I’ve got a whole post and podcast episode there all about how to do that, alright?
I hope that you have registered for The Voice Den completely free, thanks to Amazon Alexa just go to TheVoiceDen.com and I’m going to see you there next week.
Take care, talk to you tomorrow.
