Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #811

Hello Teri Fisher here, hope you’re having a good start to your weekend.

Today is Saturday, and that means it is command day and let’s talk about a couple of different things that you can say to Alexa.

And it’s always just a quick reminder, if you haven’t heard the other commands, you can always go back to VoiceinCanada.ca and you can see all of the previous flash briefings there.

Alright, so here are a couple of things that you can say to Alexa, “Alexa, make me laugh”.

That’s one, she’ll basically tell you a joke when you ask her to do that. Here’s a very interesting one that I have since enabled.

She’ll basically tell you a joke when you ask her to do that.

Amazon Alexa Commands 98

This command, “Alexa, tell me when there’s a severe weather alert” and if you have set up Alexa to your particular location, then when you say that it will confirm back to you that yes, the next time there a severe weather alert for your city.

So in my case, Vancouver, it will tell me when there is a weather alert, so that’s pretty cool.

And I think we’ll do one more for fun today and this is sort of a practical one as well.

If you want to learn a little bit about nutrients in particular foods, you can just ask Alexa.

You can say, for example, “Alexa, what are the nutrients in an Apple?” and she’ll give you all the highlights stats on apples.

So there you go, have some fun with those. Have a great Saturday, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
