Katy is the winner of the Alexa conversations challenge for her skill called Art Museum. A lot of work went into building this Alexa skill. The concept is that it allows you to explore an art museum utilizing natural voice.
One of the reasons why this project was so important to Katy is because it was built while all the museums were closed during the pandemic. This was a great way to bring some art into the homes of people.
How Does Katy Navigate the Metaverse World?
Katy does freelance work and is always excited to work with others on their projects.
Katy does not believe in creating a limiting experience around the Art Institute. She believes that the beauty of voice and experiencing things virtually is the flexibility to go from one end of the museum to the other.
How Will People Develop Once Tech Improves and People Get Smarter?
Katy always had a big imagination and when she was growing up, her dream was to work at Disney, and she did work at Disney Channel for the first 7 years of her career!
Katy loves working in voice technology and creating content. She believes that technology should have a conversation with her rather than clicking, tapping, and scrolling. Her dream scenario is to make everything more fluid and seamless.
Katy emphasized the importance of why conversation designers exist and work with developers, which is to enable a better user experience and reach an audience.
Why Katy Started a Twitch Channel
Katy was working with a startup called Piffle and they were in the Google Voice AI accelerator program. The goal of Piffle was to create social games for the workplace. Piffle really focused on a people-first culture and making work with your team more fun.
Katy realized that there are so many moments to analyze from a conversation design and development perspective and soon realized that she could be the one to do that.

How Can Car Manufacturers Turn Content Consumers into Content Creators?
Katie believes that every industry should create content and explore how to become a content creator. Katie mentioned that voice is such a great example of community. When Katy found a community with women and voice, it inspired her to take the plunge and go full-time into voice design and production.
