Ordering food has just gotten easier with Alexa. Food delivery service, Foodora, has announced that customers can now order food using its voice assistant.

Amazon has launched the Foodora Alexa Skill to coincide with Amazon Prime Day festivities, allowing hungry customers to check out restaurant options and make orders using voice command.

Previously foodora customers were able to track their orders via Alexa, but now they can place full orders of their food using the AI assistant.

To order your food all you have to do is simply say: “Alexa, tell Foodora I am hungry!” Or “Alexa, tell Foodora that I want a Cheeseburger from my favourite place.”

For the Alexa Skill to work, you’ll need to have a Foodora account with at least one order on it, and a credit card saved as well, according to Amazon.

The new Foodora Alexa Skill is now available across Canada where Foodora is offered. However, Alexa only supports English right now so users must complete orders in English.

If you are a Foodora user in Toronto, you can easily order Assembly using voice command. Foodora recently became a partner with Assembly Chef’s Hall to offer delivery service for the 17 restaurants available as Assembly.

Foodora is anticipating to deliver the same feature to Google Home and Apple Homepod soon.

Placing any sort of order using voice is really convenient and is a great addition to the Foodora service. Considering that a recent survey by Media Technology Monitor revealed that roughly one in ten Canadians owns a smart speaker, ordering through Alexa is definitely the way to go… and the way of the future.
