Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #462

Hey there, it’s Teri with your flash briefing for Sunday. As you know, on Sundays I really like to answer questions from the community. And, this question comes from David W. He’s contacted me through the website, and he basically had this question.

He said, “I want to be able to answer my cell phone on my Echo Plus. To have incoming calls on my cell phone ring through the Plus speaker, and then hopefully be able to answer the call by saying, “Alexa, answer the call or something similar.” How is this done?”

Well, David, I got some bad news for you. You can’t really do that, at least, right now. Yes, you can certainly connect your Echo devices to your cell phone when you go in and you set up the Bluetooth settings.

And by the way, if you want to know how to do that, you just go to AlexainCanada.ca/Setup. I’ve got a complete detailed blog post on how to go through all settings with your Echo devices.

You can certainly connect your Echo devices to your cell phone.

Question Can I Answer a Cell Phone with Alexa

But, getting back to your question at hand, if you…, if you connected, yes, you can use the Echo device as a speakerphone, but you still have to control it through your phone.

So when the phone rings, you’re going to have to answer the phone through your mobile phone, but then if it’s connected, you can then speak to the Echo device, and it will function as a speakerphone.

So, that’s the answer to the question. Unfortunately, you cannot yet answer your cell phone through Alexa or an Echo device. Hopefully, that will come soon. So anyway, there you go.

Keep the questions coming. I hope that they’re helpful and answering the question for a lot of other people in the community. And if you have a… If you haven’t joined our community, feel free to do so at AlexainCanada.ca/Community. Alright. Have a great day. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
